Registration Problem?

Some people have experienced problems creating their username after installing the extension. Please do not despair and try again later. Our registration server is suffering from time to time from the rush. Apologies for that. We are looking into this.

UPDATE: We will soon issue a patch which will fix the registration problem. It has affected a very small number of users but we do not want to leave anyone out. We will let you know here when it is available and we will also email back people who have contacted us directly to report the problem. Thanks.

UPDATE 2: If you cannot wait for the fix, you always have the option to register again with a different email address and choose a different username. Not ideal but that’s the way around for the time being.

  1. Big problems with registration! When it finally got through it said user name alredy in use and email already in use, same when I did it with another set of ID, so I cannot use this service (which I think I would like to) PS whats an URI?

  2. It looks promising but I must stress one important point that you guys obviously forgot. Did you realize that more than one person may use the computer? I don’t think so because you cannot log in as another user. What is worse: You cannot change the email adress either, something that can happen if you loose (or will loose) access to an email account for any reason. Please fix these issues will you. Otherwise, great job guys.

    /Mike

  3. hello,

I have already installed allpeers on my laptop and I am doing the same on my PC. But I could not used the same name and e-mail as I do not have a “code” normally send by mail. I cannot find this code and using my laptop I do not find any information about it

    thanks for your help

  7. I’ve had the same problem with my username being already in use and then never got a confirmation email. In the end was so fed up that I uninstalled Allpeers - even that wasn’t easy!

  9. Nice application, if I could use it.

    User name already used.
    e-mail address alreday used.
Restore my previous account: no account for given e-mail address.

I will try the software when it goes to beta, because this seems like an alpha version.

  11. Yeah…this is no way near beta.

You guys have A LOT of work to do.

    Sorry.

  12. Registration is completely broken. Entering my chosen user name and actual email gets an ‘email address already in use message’. Try to recover the account for that address (it might have been the case that one of previous attempts to register, which just hung, had actually done something) and I’m told that the email address isn’t known.

Put in total rubbish for the email address and you can register, however. Kind of thing Microsoft might have written.

  16. Can’t click the ‘next’ buttom, no matter which username I make up.
Also, when I try to use the ‘recover account’ link, and write my email, I get a javascript error when clicking ‘next’.
please, don’t forget about us, debian linux users.

  17. I agree with Mike. Being able to log out and in at any time needs to get implemented. Also it would be nice to get more options. I hate how it automatically saves everything to my desktop in a folder. Gimme options for everything.

I know it’s beta but I just wanted to share a couple pennies with ya.

  23. Chabi - it’s possible that you firewall might be blocking us. We’ve had reports of this happening in certain environments (particularly companies that have very restrictive firewalls). We’re looking into this.

  25. Matt - J’ai désactivé mon firewall (zonealarm) et c’est toujours pareil (oops !….) avec différentes adresses.

    Comment by Chabi — 9/1/2006 @ 10:05 am

  27. For my registration problems : It’s necessary to deactivate your firewall and to be in ‘direct connection to internet” i.e without local proxy [127.0.0.1] (for a personal use like nielsen-netratings tools).
if that can be useful for others…

  28. I got this installed at home, but I also wanted to install it at work so I can use it here also. I want to use MY one username, but I can’t figure out where to enter the user/pass. Am I the only one wanting to do this? Or am I just missing a blatant step somewhere?
