Title says it all. The “Work Offline” feature is very cool.

UPDATE: I mentioned this in the comments but I’ll put it here as well to make it more visible. As some people have noted, the upgrade to Firefox 1.5.0.7 broke the popup menu of our system tray icon. To get around this, you can simply double click on the icon to reopen Firefox when you’re minimized to the system tray. You can quit Firefox using File/Exit. If you like, you can turn off the close to tray feature entirely by going to Tools/AllPeers Preferences. We’ve fixed the problem already so it will no longer be an issue in v0.52, which we are currently finalizing for release.

  1. Can we get an easy to read change log please?

  2. Great, HTML validator works again! And I can select my own download folder! But what exactly is the use of the work offline feature?

  3. I installed it and everything was fine, but then I downloaded the latest version of Firefox and I have had nothing but trouble with both. Firefox hangs up all the time now, and that NEVER happened prior to my loading AllPeers. I am trying the OffLine feature now to see if that makes a difference. So far I am disappointed.

  4. Jeff - it would make more sense to discuss this on our forums (http://www.allpeers.com/community). If you are so motivated, is there any chance you post a bit more information about the behavior you are experiencing? Are you running Win XP? I’ve got FF 1.5.0.7 and AP 0.51 installed and I haven’t experienced this problem. Maybe it’s due to a conflict with another extension that you have installed? Are other people experiencing this?

  5. Hi there…
Hats off to allpeers….well into your project. Just a couple of bugs to report….I have seen a couple of problems where people modify their shared content and it doesn’t always update for their friends. Also, everytime I reboot, allpeers adds another allpeers shortcut to the top righthand side of Firefox. I’ve had four identical icons on the go and I have to delete them all manually but they keep on appearing on every re-boot. Apart from that, kudos all round and keep up the good work.

  8. Same as Jeff.R, installing latest firefox version messed everything up. You can’t close allpeers anymore except thru the task manager.

  9. As I mentioned, you can close Firefox using File/Exit. If you close to the tray icon, you can double click on it to open Firefox again. You definitely don’t need to use the task manager.

To turn off the close to tray functionality, go to Tools/AllPeers Preferences.

The problem with the tray icon menu is already fixed and will be in v0.52. We’re working to get that online as soon as possible.

  13. great stuff for sure, but where do I see who is loading of me, with how much bandwidth and can I regulate / assign widt and priority? What’s bugging me most is to be completely blind to who is currently downloading of me. That is the worst. Apart from that, on Win XP FF1.5.0.7 everything’s solid.

  14. Not sure whether this will get into v0.53 (v0.52 is already being finalized for release) but it’s definitely a high priority. The plan is to provide both information about who is downloading what at any given time, and also info afterwards about who has downloaded a given file.
