AllPeers v0.52
AllPeers v0.52 is now available on Mozilla Add-ons, at least for Windows. The Mac and Linux versions were submitted at the same time but apparently they’re still waiting for approval. I’ll update this post once they are online.
We’ve received a lot of feedback about new stuff that our users want from AllPeers, so we tried to pick the stuff that has been requested the most and get it into this version for you to enjoy:
- Pause, resume, cancel downloads
- Queued files remain in queue when Firefox is restarted
- Tray icon menu works again, and tray icon is off by default and less obtrusive
- People can’t share with you until you approve them
- Deleting happens in the background without blocking Firefox
- Improvements to registration and restore account processes
- Many minor bugfixes and improvements
We’ve also accelerated our release schedule for v0.53 since we want to get out a Firefox 2.0-compatible version as quickly as possible. It should be online next week, with a few new features to boot. In order to accelerate this process, we’re moving some of the v0.53 features to v0.54, which will follow soon afterwards (don’t have an exact target date yet). It should include much better feedback about who is downloading stuff from you, a first implementation of our instant messaging functionality and much else besides.
UPDATE: Okay, the Mac and Linux versions are up as well.

Are the registration servers down? I’ve been trying to sign up for two days and keep getting told to try again later.

Good job! Does this version fix the bug where a file or folder would get displayed multiple times?
