Sai Baba Mandir (Samadhi Mandir)

You know it is the chief fascination of Shirdi as the temple encompasses the last remains of Sai Baba. A rich man from Nagpur began the construction of the temple to place an idol of God Krishna; however the last remains of Sai Baba were to be kept here as he departed this life in 1918, since then the spot carries immense reverence for Sai Baba’s devotees from all across the world. This temple is the dominant point of the Shirdi pilgrimage and people stand in lengthy queues to catch a peep of Sai Baba’s mortal remains. Dixit Wada Museum

This Museum is located in the centre of the Sansthan complex and encompasses rare black and white photographs of Sai Baba. Other articles or things such as Baba’s ‘Kani’ (long robes) and that of his leather Padukas, gramophone records, water tumblers, smoking pipe,  bathing stone and cooking utensils that were used by Sai Baba are on display at this spot. You can visit this place anytime between 10am to 6pm. once you take buses from Mumbai to Shirdi, you can plan accordingly.

Dwarkamai Masjid

Just on the right of the Samadhi Mandir is the Dwarkamayee Masjid. It is the spot where the Saint Sai Baba spent a huge amount of his lifetime. At this Mosque, Baba used to light up lamps every single evening. A large stone is still preserved at this Masjid on which Sai Baba used to sit. The holy ‘Dhuni’ or fire is still lit till this date and the amazing ‘Udi’ or ash from this specific fire is given to pilgrims and is believed to be immensely divine. The Masjid encompasses a life-size portrait of Sai Baba.
