In doing all you can do when it comes to motherhood no matter how many children you have, here are three keys to zero in on:

  1. Take care of you – You won’t be of much use to your children or anyone else for that matter if you do not care for yourself. That said take the time to make sure you are eating right and getting the proper exercise. You also want to be sure and keep your stress level to a minimum. Not eating right and failing to exercise on a regular basis can make you tired. It can even lead to sickness or injury if you are not careful. When it comes to stress, you want to keep that level down as much as you can. By taking care of you, you’ll be in a much better position to care for your children. That is whether being an older Mom or one at a young age.
  2. Get recommended advice – It is never a bad thing to get the recommended advice of doctors, other moms and more. You can pick and choose what advice it is you want to run with. That advice could help you in areas you had not thought of. For example, getting worthwhile advice on how to be a better listener is good. As your child gets older and especially when they enter the teen years, life can get awkward at times. This is oftentimes due to peer pressure. It is important that you are there for your child and encouraging them each step of the way. Failing to do this could lead your child to withdrawal to some degree and even act out at times. If living with your partner, turn to them for advice at times too. They may look at things from a different perspective on how it is you are both raising your child. Having a different perspective to consider can be beneficial over time.
  3. Spend as much time with your kid as possible – Last, you likely have a busy life. This is especially true if you are a working mom and taking care of one or more young ones on a full-time basis. As a result, time can seem limited all too often. You want to spend as much time with your kid as possible. They will appreciate that time. That is even if they shrug their shoulders or give you a specific look when you say you want time with them. The bond you build with your youngster over time is something you both will cherish for the rest of your lives.
