NEET Exam 2020 and Paper Analysis

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is one of the most anticipated medical entrance examinations in the country. With the examination around the corner, students are putting in all their efforts to score the maximum number of marks, so they can enter the choice of their medical college. Most of the students are not sure what is the right procedure for registration and the distribution of marks for the exam. In this article, we will look into the procedure for registration and the structure of the paper analysis for all three subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

NEET is an offline exam that comprises three subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In total, 180 questions are asked from the three subjects and each subject carries 45 marks. Compared to other subjects, the 2019 physics question paper was more difficult.  The question paper for Chemistry was mildly difficult to answer, compared to other subjects. The Biology question paper was the easiest subject to write and score marks.

NEET a national-level largest medical entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) that provides admission to class 12 graduates in medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BSMS, and BUMS.

NEET Paper Analysis

The NEET paper analysis of the year 2019 is categorised into physics paper analysis, chemistry paper analysis and biology paper analysis. According to experts, the physics paper analysis was considered the toughest subject amongst the three subjects. The physics questions were tricky and conceptual based and solving these questions required heavy calculations.

The chemistry paper analysis showed that chemistry questions were easy and direct from the NCERT syllabus. Chemistry was a scoring subject with simple topic-based questions. Experts say that this year’s chemistry paper was much easier compared to last year’s chemistry paper.

Speaking of biology paper analysis which usually is easy, was not that easy for paper analysis 2019. The biology questions were descriptive and time consuming. Majority of the biology questions were asked from Microbes in Human Welfare and Cell, which is the unit of life chapters from biology and zoology. Most of the biology questions were based on difficult concepts and required deep knowledge of the concept.

NEET 2020 Registration

The National Testing Agency (NTA), has closed the NEET 2020 registration on February 9, 2020. In order to apply for the medical entrance exam, the candidate must register online, fill the application form, scan and upload the photos of documents and signature, and pay registration fees. The students can download the admit card from March 27 to May 03, 2020.

As the lockdown situation has intensified over the last few weeks, several applicants have requested the National Testing Agency (NTA) to reopen the application form for the exam. Due to the lockdown, many students were unable to complete the application process and couldn’t complete the registration.

Due to several requests from the candidates, the NTA has reopened the application form 2020, giving registered candidates the last chance to apply for the registration. In this final opportunity for registration for the entrance exam, the registered candidates can edit the details like personal, educational, uploaded pictures of documents, and signature.

Following are the steps to be followed for registration:

  • The fees can be paid online via Debit/Credit/Net Banking or UPI pin gateway
  • For the general category of students, the fees have been increased to Rs. 1500.
  • Students from SC/ST/OBC category have to pay Rs. 800. The EWS and NCL OBC students have to pay Rs. 1400

The registration was available from December 2, 2019, and candidates have to complete the procedure for registration before filling the examination application forms.

Students who have registered themselves successfully are given extra time to complete any corrections in the application form.
