The age limit for eligibility is between 20 to 28 years with further relaxations given to candidates belonging to a particular community as per the government rules prescribed for the purpose. The starting basic pay for SBI Clerk is Rs 23000 with further advance increments in the pay scale. This is why the gross salary tends to get propelled by a few notches.
The SBI selection process is conducted in three stages
- Preliminary examination
- Mains examination
- The Local Language test to successfully secure a seat with SBI Clerk.
The Preliminary examination was conducted on 22nd, 29th, February, 1st, and 8th March 2020. The result for the prelims is expected in June. Moreover, the SBI Clerk Mains which was scheduled for 19th April 2020 was postponed due to COVID-19 Pandemic. SBI will update the exam date for the mains exam very soon on its official website.
All the applicants who successfully clear the preliminary round will be eligible to appear in the mains examination. The candidates appearing for the mains examination will be 10 times the SBI Clerk vacancies 2020 making the competition more hectic.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus
The mains examination will have four sections, where candidates will be tested on topics across:
- General/Financial Awareness
- English language
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning Ability
- Computer Aptitude.
